Welcome to minna|foto Wedding Photography Blog!

minna|foto is a Wedding & Lifestyle Photography website. We shoot creatively-posed and photojournalistic images. We’re based in Brooklyn, but also serve Manhattan, Queens, and the New York City area.

We love capturing cinematic shots, creative photoshoots, and using natural sunlight to showcase your beauty and elation against the wonderful backdrop of the city! We photograph weddings, engagements, family portraits, birthday parties, baby photos, reunions, and personal portraits. We create DVD slideshows, photo restorations, coffee table books, wedding albums, and gallery prints.

We’ve had the pleasure of shooting at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Steiner Studios, Tavern on the Green, Central Park, Dumbo, Leonards, Grand Army Plaza, Riverside Church, Brooklyn Bridge, The Grand Prospect Hall, Columbus Circle, Prospect Park, Meat Packing District, Battery Park, Queens Botanical Gardens, The Swan Club, South Street Seaport, Bridgewaters, and many, many other swanky locations!

Here at our blog you can view recent events. You can also visit our main website, minnafoto.com, to check out our portfolio and get pricing. We have convenient wedding packages & pricing to suit your needs. Just go to our rates section and you’ll find many options to choose from. So whenever you’re ready to chat about your wedding photography, engagement shoots, and  lifestyle portraits, give us a call!

Michelle & Eric celebrated their easy, breezy, beautiful wedding at the Tavern on the Green in Central Park! The two weaved in an out of old friends and family members…sharing stories…laughing loudly…throwing kisses, while enjoying the simplicity of their wedding day.

cake

lego_wedding_cake Boy do I enjoy the wedding cake competition shows! Have you seen them? Occasionally I’ll flip through  channels and be completely transfixed as cake tailors sculpt intricate shapes into cake as if it were clay. The mounting tension, as they assemble each tier of a lopsided, architecturally-designed wedding cake, is palpable. One wrong move, and it can take hours, even days to replace one tier. These artists seem to be able to replicate anything – even a Lego building-block cake! Amazing.

Yes, it’s true, love happens at any age. Jacinta & Trevor are proof! The pair enjoyed every moment of their wedding as they celebrated the sounds and flavors of Trinidad and Tobago…. grooving to soca from their rocking band…tasting caribbean favorites from the live table of delicious treats.

When short on time take your photos! – The reception is like a sprint. Really, it goes too fast. There are many people to talk to. There are tons of activities planned. Everyone wants your attention, and most likely you don’t want to disappoint. It’s very difficult to divert your attention back to taking wedding photos, once you get caught up in your reception activities. It’s best to arrive at your reception hall first, before your guests arrive. That way we can take loads photos before everyone descends on you, your groom, and the rest of your bridal party. You’ll get a first-look at your beautiful dining room and anticipate the wedding festivities you’ve planned for so long. Plus, photojournalistic & creatively-posed photography in an empty reception hall is pretty posh!

This fall seems more like spring. It’s rained almost everyday. But that did not stop Iris & Sam from having a ball in the park, on a day that began cloudy and wet. Autumn color is to be enjoyed – rain or shine! More coming soon -

Technical difficulties…

October 30, 2009

FYI – My contact form isn’t working. If you contacted me via the contact form on my site and didn’t receive a reply about your event I am so sorry! Please contact me at my email address at minnafoto@gmail.com or give me a call.

I should be back shortly!

214Hey folks,

This is just a reminder now is a great time to schedule your FALL Engagement Sessions…especially if you’re trying to catch the gorgeous autumnal colors during the months of October and November. Ditto for those who would like Portrait and Family Sessions, too.

I’m drawing up my schedule now. Those who have booked, of course, have first priority. If you’re interested in weekend dates, let me know, as they get taken quickly. Please keep in mind it’s best to head out early to beat the crowds. I do suggest mid-week sessions if you and your fiance are both available, since there are usually less visitors filling the parks and gardens. Hey, more time to take terrific shots!

(Yeah, I know, it’s still kind of nice out, but autumn will be here any moment.)

Cheers, Michelle
