Welcome to minna|foto Wedding Photography Blog!

minna|foto is a Wedding & Lifestyle Photography website. We shoot creatively-posed and photojournalistic images. We’re based in Brooklyn, but also serve Manhattan, Queens, and the New York City area.

We love capturing cinematic shots, creative photoshoots, and using natural sunlight to showcase your beauty and elation against the wonderful backdrop of the city! We photograph weddings, engagements, family portraits, birthday parties, baby photos, reunions, and personal portraits. We create DVD slideshows, photo restorations, coffee table books, wedding albums, and gallery prints.

We’ve had the pleasure of shooting at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Steiner Studios, Central Park, Dumbo, Leonards, Grand Army Plaza, Riverside Church, Brooklyn Bridge, The Grand Prospect Hall, Columbus Circle, Prospect Park, Meat Packing District, Battery Park, Queens Botanical Gardens, The Swan Club, South Street Seaport, Bridgewaters, and many, many other swanky locations!

Here at our blog you can view recent events. You can also visit our main website, minnafoto.com, to check out our portfolio and get pricing. We have convenient wedding packages & pricing to suit your needs. Just go to our rates section and you’ll find many options to choose from. So whenever you’re ready to chat about your wedding photography, engagement shoots, and  lifestyle portraits, give us a call!

Occasionally I love to laugh at my grandmother-Winnifred’s tendency to walk down the aisle. Here’s a late-1970s snapshot of myself with cousins, as bridesmaids…in my grandmother’s second wedding somewhere in Boston, Massachusetts. Little did we know there would be a third one! Don’t worry, it’s not an Elizabeth-Taylor-situation…it’s just that all her husbands died before her. And I promise you there was no foul-play involved!

Market Table in the West Village was a quaint little location for a wedding reception…and might I add, a delicious one too! Here are a few photographs from Sabrina & Sean’s wedding celebration.

Practice makes perfect – Bridal dresses can be quite complicated to figure out. So can headpieces, jewelry & bouquets. Especially last minute! Don’t wait until the day of your wedding to figure out how to bustle-up your gown before your first dance as a new bride. Count how many buttons there are at the back of your dress and bring a repair kit. Test the loops to make sure they can get around those tiny buttons. Don’t be too hasty when testing your zipper…be gentle and make sure the zip doesn’t get caught into the fabric. Know exactly where to fasten pins in your hair so your headpiece sits securely and complements your wedding-hairdo just right. Let your gown designer show you how to tie your bows the right way. More importantly, you must pass all this information along to your bridesmaids or whoever else is designated to help you shine on your wedding day. And practice. I’ve seen too many zippers run off tracks, buttons pop without the tools to replace them, and headpieces fall to the ground. Practice will not only make perfect, but it will save you a lot of time and frustration.

Honeymooners, Jestine & Par celebrated their recent wedding in New York City and took these Engagement Newlywed Session photos. Here’s a slideshow of their stroll through the Meatpacking District as they managed to stay cool and embrace the downtown vibe as the Sun made its exit. Enjoy!
